Chattahoochee Riverkeeper will host a community outing “Ghosts on the Water: A Celebration of Southern Spirit Stories and Songs” on West Point Lake on Sunday, Oct. 28 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Attendees will join the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper on the West Point Lake Floating Classroom for an evening of waterborne spirits, stories and songs.

Led by southern spirit guide Lewis Powell and storyteller Carol Cain, this moonlight cruise will have a boatload of ghostly stories about the South’s most haunted waterways.

Participants are welcome to bring their own food and drinks. The boat will depart from Pyne Road Park. To register online, go to Chattahoochee.org (Events tab – Outings & Cleanups – Other Outings). The cost to attend is $25 per person.

Since launching in 2015, the West Point Lake Floating Classroom has served over 11,500 students and adults by teaching unique, hands-on environmental education programs and guided lake tours. Become a member of Chattahoochee Riverkeeper and support scholarship seats for under-served students – for many, it’s the only field trip of their school year.
