Deacon Mitchell Fannin

Deacon Mitchell Fannin passed away Friday.

He was born Jan. 27, 1962, in LaGrange (Troup County) Georgia to the late Willie Henry Fannin and Georgia Lou Brooks Fannin.

He graduated from LaGrange High School, class of 1979, served in the U.S. Army and owned M and Z Trucking Company.

He was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa Fannin; son, Malachi Ja’Kyle Fannin; his aunt whom has served as a second mom, Eva Kate Brooks; sisters, Jackie Fannin, Angel Fannin, Brenda Clark, and Melissa Clark; brothers:  Timothy Clark and Reginald Brooks; sisters-in-law, Carol Ford and Linda Hart brothers-in-law, Patrick Hart and Kenney Parmer; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Smyrna Baptist Church.

The family will be at their home at 681 Leonard Road.

The excellent care of Deacon Fannin is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
