Margaret L. Stephens

Margaret L. Stephens, age 99, of Loganville, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018. She was born on July 28, 1919, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to Ethel Mae and David H. Littlejohn.

Margaret was a former member of Second Baptist Church in LaGrange and a veteran of World War II. She served as a Sunday school teacher, active in WMU and the choir of her church. She was a former member of the Pilot Club of LaGrange, a foster parent’s grandmother program of the LaGrange Troup County School System, directed Dixie Mill Kindergarten and retired from K-Mart. Margaret is a present member of Loganville Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, both her parents, her only sister, Jean Lloyd Hamlin, and her sons-in-law, Tommy Bennett and Bobby Thomas. She is survived by daughters, Jeane S. Bennett and Anne S. Thomas; grandchildren, Stephen Bennett (Melissa), Stephanie Carnevale; great grandchildren, Cameron Bennett and Lorenzo Carnevale; sister-in-law, Nell Stewart; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018, at Loganville Baptist Church. The Rev. Rusty Ruark will officiate.
