The third annual Sweetland Craft Beer and Music Festival will be held Saturday at Sweetland Amphitheatre. Between 700 and 900 people are expected to attend, according to Sweetland director Keyal Loveland.

Loveland said approximately 45 breweries and more than 130 drinks, including craft sodas, kombuchas and teas will be featured.

“We have some tasty seasonals, artisanals, as well as some rare releases we are excited about sharing,” Loveland said in an email.

In addition to beer, musicians Blair Crimmins and the Hookers, Donna Hopkins Band and Daniel Donato will perform. There will also be local food vendors, lawn games and a SEC football viewing area.

There will also be a blind beer tasting contest. The cost is $30 to enter and participants sample 2-ounces from 10 Georgia-brewed beers. The winner will receive 2019 season Sweetland passes for up to 10 events.

According to Loveland, all of the proceeds from the blind beer tasting contest, and a contribution from the general admission tickets, will benefit Circles of Troup County. Previous years have benefited the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper and The Friends of The Thread.

“This event is great not only for craft beer lovers, but for music lovers, families and all people looking to have a great evening out in downtown LaGrange,” Loveland said. “We have seen more people in attendance with each year and look forward to hosting our biggest and best craft beer lineup this weekend. We encourage responsible attendance by offering free cab rides home sponsored this year by ALFA Insurance LaGrange.”

Gates open for the event at 4 p.m.

Tickets for the festival are $35 in advance and $40 at the gates. For music only, tickets are $12. For tickets, visit freshtix.com/events/sweetlandbeerfestival.
