After 20 years of service to Troup County, County Manager Tod Tentler will retire next month, effective November 2018.

Mr. Tentler has served as County Manager since July 2012, and prior to that, he served as director of Parks and Recreation and assistant county manager, where he earned outstanding achievements for notable services to Troup County.

As county manager,  Tentler was responsible for the success related to positively changing the financial state of the county.

He was also instrumental in facilitating numerous community initiatives, such as SPLOST IV projects including the “model mile” of The Thread at Granger Park, Sweetland Amphitheater at Boyd Park, Hogansville Public Library, noticeable county wide road improvements and several upgrades for various Parks and Recreation facilities.

Before his appointment as county manager, he served as director of Parks and Recreation for 14 years. Tentler was an active member of the Georgia Recreation and Park Association, where he represented District 3 on the board of trustees and served as president in 2002.

Among his awards and recognitions throughout the community, he was the recipient for the highest honor from the GRPA, the Distinguished Professional Award in 2010.

We wish him the best in his retirement.”

The Troup County Board of Commissioners will soon appoint the next County Manager. Eric Mosley, assistant county manager, began his employment with Troup County on Jan. 2, 2018. Before that, he had served for three years as the assistant county manager at Spalding County. When Mosley was hired, it was anticipated that he could be considered as a candidate to fill the position of county manager upon Tentler’s retirement in November 2018.

After more than nine months of serving as assistant county manager, Mosley’s appointment to county manager will be considered by the Troup County Board of Commissioners as part of its Nov. 6, regular board meeting agenda.
