COLUMBUS  —  The Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley, Inc. is now accepting applications for two grant programs — Discretionary Grants and Innovation Grants.

During 2018, the Community Foundation will facilitate two grantmaking programs through its unrestricted Funds:

4Discretionary Grants — will consider projects that align with one or more of the following three action areas outlined in Columbus 2025: An Enterprising Culture; Talented, Educated People; Vibrant and Connected Places (see Columbus2025.com for more information). The Community Foundation has committed up to $80,000 in unrestricted grant funds available for Discretionary Grants; grants awarded will range in size from $2,500 to $10,000 for applications from individual organizations. Collaborative efforts may apply for up to $10,000 in funding per participating organization, with a max request of up to $80,000.

4 Innovation Grants — will consider innovative projects that demonstrate creative solutions without duplicating other effective efforts. These projects could be new ideas an organization is looking to test on a small scale or an innovative addition or spin on an existing project. Proposed projects should begin on or after Jan. 1, 2019, and end by Dec. 31, 2019. The Community Foundation has committed up to $20,000 in unrestricted grant funds for Innovation Grants; grants awarded will range in size from $1,000 to $2,500. 

Applications for these unrestricted grant programs are due by Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, at 5 p.m.

“Through last year’s Discretionary Grant program, we learned a great deal about the fantastic work taking place in the counties we serve,” said Kelli Parker, director, grants and community partnerships. “Through these microgrants the Community Foundation will invest in innovative, new ideas. And while there is still an expectation that results will be measured, we are particularly interested in what can be learned through these projects.”
