County closing Greenville Street entry on Nov. 30

At a recent Troup County Commissioner Meeting, a decision was made to permanently close the Greenville Street door at the Troup County Government Center due to a recent inspection that found that the door is not compliant with the American Disability Act.

After much discussion with county leaders about the overwhelming cost to retrofit the doorway and the fact that the number of people using the Greenville Street side is far fewer than the main entrance it was been determined by the County Commissioners, that the Greenville Street doorway will be closed as of Friday Nov. 30 at 5 p.m., and it will become an emergency exit only at that point.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this decision please contact Sheriff James Woodruff at (706) 883-1616 or Assistant County Manager Eric Mosley at (706) 883-1610.
