Richard Mann Carlisle of Roopville, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Saturday Nov. 10, 2018.

Mr. Carlisle was born Nov. 8, 1941, in Gay, Georgia, to the late Harry Felton Carlisle and Willie Louise Mann Carlisle.

Mr. Carlisle served as an educator holding positions as a teacher and principle for various school systems. He later served as school superintendent for Harris County Schools until his retirement.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Harry Carlisle. He is survived by his lovely wife Rebecca Ann Skipper Carlisle; daughters, Tammy (John) Paynter, Wendy (Warren) White, Kelli (Michael) Pendelton, Samantha (Todd) Carlisle and Paige LaShea Carlisle; son, Derek Carlisle; grandchildren, Brandon Hulsey, Bradley Hulsey, Brittany Hair, Jessica White and Avery Pendleton; great-grandchildren, Ashton Hulsey, Carson Hulsey and Taelynn Hulsey; brothers, Gerald (Susan) Carlisle, Phillip (Charlene) Carlisle and Clifford (Shelia) Carlisle; brother-in-law, Robin Skipper and several nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in LaGrange. The celebration of life will begin at noon. The burial will be 3 p.m. at Caney Head United Methodist Cemetery in Roopville, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Caney Head United Methodist Church.
