Dr. Leslie M. Brown

Dr. Leslie M. Brown, son of James and Doris Brown from Jenkins Street in LaGrange, Georgia, and former pastor of Shekinah Fellowship in Lahaina, Rose of Sharon in Kahului, Maui, and Thy Word Ministries in Hilo, Hawaii, passed away on Monday, Nov. 12,2018. 

He was born in LaGrange, Georgia, on Nov. 26, 1945, and was a resident of Maui, Hawaii, since 1970. Throughout his life, Les was an avid fisherman and pursued this passion with excellence.  

Dr. Brown began a life of ministery when he was 15-years-old. He evangelized across the nation and around the world including Canada, Korea, Philippines, China, Argentina, England and American Samoa. Extraordinary minister, nationally acclaimed worship leader, song writer, sololist, author and so much more, he was an inspiration to countless lives for almost 60 years. He leaves behind his wife, Vivienne, children (Sean and Robyn), grandchildren, and many spiritual sons and daughters, but his music “I Will Arise,” lives on and continues to bring joy and encouragement to the body of Christ worldwide.
