Mrs. Ruby H Dommisse

Mrs. Ruby H Dommisse, 101, of LaGrange passed away Sunday afternoon at her home. 

Mrs. Dommisse was born Oct. 16, 1917, in Randolph County, Alabama the twin daughter of the late William Thomas and Pearl Jane Fincher Holliday. Mrs. Dommisse was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church on the Square and enjoyed participating in her Sunday school class, its activities and being a church leader for over 30 years. Ruby’s activities included, seamstress, tending her gardens and accumulating over 1,900 hours of volunteer work with West Georgia Medical / West Georgia Health Volunteer Services. During World War II, she worked at the Pentagon making sure that our men in service received their Purple Heart ribbons. Ruby was proud of being notated in the Wikipedia of her and her twin sister, Ruth Holliday, being listed as one of the 25 oldest living twins. 

Mrs. Dommisse was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin J. Dommisse; son, Mark Dommisse; and a grandson, William Gary Almand.

Survivors include her daughter, Mona T. Dommisse of Savannah; her son, Gary Dommisse of LaGrange; four grandchildren; and twin sister, Miss Ruth Holliday of Roanoke, Alabama.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Ruby H. Dommisse will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, from the graveside in Shadowlawn Cemetery with Dr. Paul R. Baxter officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot. The family requests that donations be made to the Salvation Army in memory of Mrs. Ruby H. Dommisse.
