A LaGrange man was airlifted to Grady Hospital in Atlanta after being shot in the face Sunday evening on the 100 block of Brown Street. According to a LaGrange Police Department press release, the victim and Kawaun Breary were having an argument when Breary shot him with a small handgun.

“There was some type of altercation between him and the suspect and the suspect pulled a gun and shot him,” LPD Sgt. William Nelson said.

The victim was then airlifted to Grady Hospital.

“[The victim] appears to be stable based on our current conversation with Grady this morning,” Nelson said. “He was not extraordinarily cooperative with police officers when we responded yesterday.”

According to Nelson, Breary was charged with aggravated assault.
