Man charged after allegedly ramming vehicle with minors inside

A LaGrange man was arrested after ramming his car into another vehicle which had minor passengers in it Wednesday night at the 1600 block of Whitesville Road. According to a LaGrange Police Department press release, Riley Wayne Bowles, 40, and the victims argued in the parking lot at Whitesville Road before the victims got back into their vehicle.

“After the verbal altercation, the four victims got into the vehicle and were attempting to drive away and the suspect rammed their vehicle and drove off,” said LPD Det. Jeremey Jones.

According to Jones, the driver and two minors were taken to a hospital for non-serious injuries. Two of the victims were 19 years old and the others were 12 and 13 years old.

Bowles was later found at his residence, and was arrested, according to the LPD press release.

According to Troup County Webjail, Bowles was charged with four counts of aggravated assault other weapon and two counts of cruelty to child third degree: child witness felony battery family violence act. His bond is $2,000.
