Keep Troup Beautiful is sponsoring its Bring One for the Chipper Event on Jan. 5, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Each year, immediately following the holidays, Keep Troup Beautiful welcomes used live Christmas tree as well as other recyclables residents may have including computers, printers, cardboard, paper and plastic.

This year, Keep Troup Beautiful will hold another tire amnesty. That means locals can bring old car and pickup tires that are sitting in their yards that the cities and the county do not want.

A tire dumpster available from Friday, Jan. 4 through Friday, Jan. 11. No commercial tires will be accepted.

To thank those who drop off recyclables, Keep Troup Beautiful will give away Dogwood and Swamp Chestnut Oak seedlings as well as flower and vegetable seed packets.

Participants can also enter to win a door prize.
