Julia Aurelia Cerniglia Tunnell, age 90, of LaGrange, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, at the Brightmore Hospice. She was born on Aug. 29, 1928, to the lateNuncio Samuel Cerniglia and Viola Jackson Cerniglia in Greenville, Mississippi. She was part of the Daughters of the Confederacy and a faithful member of St. Peters Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Hansel Tunnell; brother, Sam Cerniglia, Jr., sisters, Helen Roy, Mildred Smith. Survivors include her sons, Christopher Tunnell (Suzanne), Patrick Tunnell (Michelle); daughters, Linda Tunnell (Joseph Hans Lang), Helen Norman (Larry), Julia Harris (David); sisters, Rosemary Brewer, Carol Artman; grandchildren, Dallas Crain, Jason Barnett, Aurelia Jones, Samantha Barnett, Shelby Norman, Lori Adams, Christopher Tunnell, Paul Tunnell, Sophia Tunnell, Patrick Tunnell, Chad Tunnell, Aaron Tunnell, Carrissa Brown, Colten Kovarik, Brett Harris, Bradley Harris; 13 great grandchildren; extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, at the Higgins Lagrange Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Father Tim Gadziala as chief celebrant.
