Troup stays hot with road win

CEDARTOWN -The red-hot Troup Tigers capped a winning weekend with a 57-46 road victory over Cedartown on Saturday.

Troup (11-5 overall) improved to 3-1 in Region 5-AAAA while winning for the fifth time in six games.

Troup beat LaGrange 51-43 on Friday, and it followed that up with a road win over Cedartown a day later.

Troup hasn’t allowed more than 46 points in any of its three region victories.

In the Cedartown game, Ja’Rell Smith led a balanced scoring effort with 14 points.

Kobe Hudson added 13 points, and Andy Boykin scored 12 points.

It was also a successful day for Troup’s girls’ team, which improved to 3-1 in the region with a 57-38 win over Cedartown.

Troup (10-5) won for the 10th time in 12 games.

Amber Gilbert had it going for Troup with 27 points, and she was 9-of-11 from the free-throw line.

Jada Green added 13 points, and Aniya Palmer contributed 12 points.
