The Troup County Board of Assessors hosted its second annual PILOT Program Compliance Workshop Friday morning at the Great Wolf Lodge Conference Center.

County Manager Eric Mosley welcomed attendees and extended praise to the community for their support and participation in the conference. The workshop focused on the importance of accurate reporting and compliance of local companies taking part in the PILOT program.

Many of the companies represented at the workshop were relocated manufacturers, while others were established industries that have expanded their facilities throughout Troup County.

The goal of the workshop was to provide local company representatives with guidelines and other useful information regarding upcoming company reports and personal property returns.

The Troup County Board of Assessors, Chief Appraiser Dana Eaton, Troup County Board of Commissioners and Personal Property Appraiser Vivian White have worked to educate company representatives in hopes that the upcoming return season would exhibit a more efficient company reporting process.

According to a county press release, the conference facilitated an overall great response from local businesses and was successful in providing extensive details and reports regarding tax abatement agreements to company representatives.
