It was a successful weekend for the local wrestlers.

While LaGrange and Callaway participated in the Bowdon Invitational, Troup competed in the Last Man Standing meet at Ola High.

Leading the way for Troup was Darious Hanson, who finished first at 132 pounds.

Pearson Strickland finished second at 126 pounds, and he lost to a wrestler who has won back-to-back state titles.

Colby Harry was third at 285 pounds, and freshman Kullum Irvin placed fourth at 145 pounds.

Also for Troup, Dylan Hayes (120 pounds) was seventh, and Thomas Fuller (152 pounds) was eighth.

LaGrange had five placers at the Bowdon tournament, including Matt Callaway and Jacob Anderson, who each finished second.

Isaiah Coleman, Colin Cavender and Hunter Brooks each placed third.

For Callaway, Ladarious Williams, Anthony Elliott and LaQuize Gilbert each finished second, and Curmondre Bray was fourth.
