Russell Webster Fackler, 66, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019. Russell was born July 27, 1952, in LaGrange, Georgia, son of the late Dr. W.B. Fackler Jr. and Marjorie Turner Fackler.

He was educated in the LaGrange school system and graduated from both LaGrange High School and LaGrange College. He then spent more than 40 years with the Georgia Power Company before retiring in 2018. All who knew Russell will remember his ready smile, and calm demeanor and love of his friends, golf and fishing. Most of all, however, Russell loved God and his family.

He is survived by his fiancée, Sharon Andrews; mother, Marjorie Fackler; brother, Ron Fackler; brother, Whit and Jan Fackler; sister, Jane and David Whitmer; six nieces and nephews and eight grand nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The celebration of life service will be Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church followed by a private family burial.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to William B. and Marjorie T. Fackler Scholarship Fund at LaGrange College in memory of Russell Fackler.
