Seymour “Sy” Chase

Seymour “Sy” Chase, age 76, of LaGrange, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019, at the WellStar West Georgia Medical Center. He was born on Sept. 27, 1942, in New Haven, Connecticut, to the late Isaac and Lillian Chase. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and later graduated from Quinnipiac University. He was a building inspector for the City of LaGrange, retiring in 2012. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five older brothers. He is survived by his wife, Daniela Chase; and three daughters, Lisa Chase, Tara Strickland and Krista Wardlaw, as well as a granddaughter, Laci Phillips and her husband, Frankie “Scooter” Phillips. He also has three grandsons, Chase Wardlaw, Daniel Wardlaw and Johnathon Strickland; two great grandsons, Frankie and Brayden Phillips. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m.on Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church, chief celebrant, Father Tim Gadziala. Family will receive friends at the church for visitation one hour prior to the service.
