LaGrange High’s soccer teams tuned up for the season by hosting Whitewater on Sunday in a preseason doubleheader.

In the girls’ game, Whitewater prevailed 4-0, while LaGrange rallied in the second half for the 2-1 win.

The Grangers had some scoring opportunities in the first half, but they were unable to find the net, and they faced a 1-0 deficit at the break.

LaGrange tied it in the second half on a goal by Josue Recinos. Alex Bowie delivered a free kick, and Recinos headed the ball into the net for the game-tying goal.

Later in the half, it was Griffin Sanchez scoring off a free kick by Johnny McDonald, and LaGrange had the lead.

LaGrange’s teams open the regular season today against Northgate at Callaway Stadium.
