Cavaliers fall short on road

BOWDON – The Callaway Cavaliers (2-1) fought back from a 3-0 deficit to get within a run before falling to home-standing Bowdon 4-3 on Monday.

Trailing 3-0, Callaway scored two runs in the top of the fifth.

After Bowdon tacked on a run in the bottom of the fifth, Callaway scored a single run in the top of the seventh before falling just short.

Trent Sheppard had a double and an RBI for Callaway, and Braelin Mitchell and Destin Patrick each had hits.

Leadoff hitter Drake Wade scored two runs.

Jabari Smith, Austin Barber, Dawson Wright and Destin Patrick each pitched for Callaway.
