Troup County recently conducted a successful Valentine’s Day fundraiser as a part of its United Way Campaign for the Harmony House in LaGrange, a state of Georgia certified emergency shelter that provides refuge to victims of domestic violence.

The county collected monetary donations from employees who desired to participate in the cause and was successful in raising a considerable donation. County Manager Eric Mosley met with the Executive Director of the Harmony House, Michele Bedingfield, to donate the collected contributions.

“I am thankful to have been chosen and appreciate all of the support from the county,” Bedingfield said.

The mission of Harmony House is to provide emergency shelter and safety, security, crisis intervention, education and advocacy for adults and children who fall victims to domestic violence. The Troup County Board of Commissioners said it is grateful to all those who participated in the fundraiser and contributed to the success of the Harmony House, a safe space in our community for women and children.
