The Troup Tigers continued their challenging non-region schedule with a game at Central-Phenix City (Ala.) on Tuesday.

Central broke open a scoreless game with four runs in the bottom of the third inning on the way to a 7-2 home win.

Caleb McCurry had two of Troup’s two hits, Cooper Doughman had a double, Ethan Morton had an RBI single, and Brett Haynes had a sacrifice fly.

Jackson Knox started for Troup, and he pitched the first four innings, and Grayson Garner and Colton Webb worked the final two innings.

Trailing 6-0, Troup scored both of its runs in the top of the fifth inning.

With the bases loaded, Haynes got the Tigers on the board with a sacrifice fly, and Morton followed with an RBI single.

Troup (3-8) will host Woodward Academy on Thursday before opening Region 5-AAAA play next week against Central-Carroll.
