Cougars make it seven straight

The red-hot Lafayette Christian School Cougars (7-2) eased past Harvester Christian 5-1 on Monday to win their seventh consecutive game.

The Cougars got an outstanding pitching performance from Nathan Karvelas.

Karvelas held Harvester to two hits and one run, and he struck out five in six innings.

Tanner Jackson worked a scoreless seventh inning.

Offensively, Cason Firth had two hits and two RBIs, and Jacob Karvelas had two hits and two runs scored.

Nathan Karvelas had two RBIs, Landon Bush drove in a run, and Brock Tumlin had a hit.

Harvester scored its lone run in the top of the first, and Lafayette Christian took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the inning.

The Cougars added another run in the fourth inning, and they capped the scoring with two runs in the bottom of the fifth.
