It was all LaGrange.

In a Region 5-AAAA doubleheader at Callaway Stadium on Tuesday, LaGrange’s soccer teams had no trouble with rival Troup.

In the girls’ game, LaGrange eased to a 9-0 victory, and LaGrange won the boys’ game 10-0.

It was the region opener for both LaGrange teams.

In the girls’ game, Izzy Pippin and Caroline Thompson each scored three goals to lead LaGrange’s scoring effort.

Hana Sato, Sydney Ormsby and Miller Williamson had one goal apiece.

Thompson, Malone Aldridge and Maddie McPeters each had an assist.

In the boys’ game, LaGrange led 8-0 at the half, and it added two goals early in the second half to end it.

Senior Robert Reese paced the Grangers with three goals, all in the first half, and Tripp Holstrom and Jimmy Cancino had two goals apiece.

Harrison Hunnicutt, John McDonald and Josue Recinos each had one goal.

Cancino had four assists, Winston Herrera had three assists, and Hunnicutt, McDonald and Logan Lopez had one assist apiece.

After scoring two early goals, the Grangers were quiet for a while offensively before regaining their scoring touch.

“We started dribbling too much instead of passing,” LaGrange coach Shane Pulliam said. “As soon as we started passing again and making the runs, it started clicking.”
