Thomas Edgar Guion, the son of the late James Edgar and Bernice Hebert Guion, died March 29 in Ashland, Ohio.

Mr. Guion was born on August 7, 1941 in Thibodaux, La. He received his master’s degree in counseling from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux. He taught school and was a middle school guidance counselor for 22 years in Louisiana before moving to LaGrange, Ga. in 1995.

He was employed by the State of Georgia as a Vocational Rehabilitation counselor. He was a parishioner of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in LaGrange and was active with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He was an artist, loved to travel and volunteered with Love in the Name of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Guion of Ashland; three daughters, Christine (Kip) Justilian of Pierre Part, La., Jenny Guion of Mandeville, La., Yvonne (Robby) Madsen of Houston, Texas; one son, David (Tracey) Guion of Missouri City, Texas; stepchildren, Beth (Steven) Cole of Ashland, Ohio, Jonathan Summers of Gainesville, Ga.; nine grandchildren, Erin (Chris) Sullivan, Eimee Reese, Max Leray, Eli Justilian, Cade Madsen, Harlie Madsen, Samantha Noriega, Waide Noriega, and Dalton Guion; four step- grandchildren; Maggie Cole, Patrick Cole, Katie Fleming and Ryland Summers; three great-grandchildren; Piper Phillips, Raylynn Guidry, Reese Sullivan; siblings, Peggy Hayes, Jim (Paulette) Guion, Judy (Reynold) Barousse, Bill (Cyndi) Guion, numerous cousins, and a special friend, Jackie Kennedy.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Rev. Timothy Gadziala officiating. Interment will follow at Meadoway Gardens on Hamilton Road. Family will receive friends on Saturday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 in the vestibule at St. Peter’s Church.
