The LaGrange Fire Department is investigating a storage building fire that occurred Tuesday at the Whispering Pines Apartments.

The LFD responded to 1515 Hogansville Road at 1:40 p.m. According to a LFD press release, firefighters arrived on the scene and found flames and heavy smoke showing through the roof of a storage building.

According to the press release, a partial roof collapse hindered firefighters from entering all the way inside the building. The fire was under control at 2:08 p.m. and extinguished at 2:37 p.m.

Firefighters also had to extinguish the grass cover fire around the building.

Fire loss estimates were set at $50,000 to structure and contents.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by LaGrange Fire Department.
