A few days after scoring a career-high seven goals, LaGrange College’s Davida White was at it again.

White added six more goals in Tuesday’s USA South lacrosse showdown with Huntingdon, although visiting LaGrange College fell 14-10.

It has been quite a two-game stretch for White, one of three seniors who was recognized before Saturday’s 15-12 loss to North Carolina Wesleyan.

White, who led the Panthers in goals in 2017 and was second in that category last season, has 23 goals in seven games this year.

More than half of White’s goals have come in the past two games.

In Tuesday’s game, Huntington led 4-3 after a low-scoring first-half, and it outscored LaGrange College 10-7 in the second half.

White’s goal with 14:55 to play got the Panthers within one, but the Hawks scored four of the final five goals.

Brie Shepler added three goals for the Panthers, and Sarah Gilbrook had one goal.

In Saturday’s game, LaGrange College hung tough with North Carolina before falling 15-12.

It was senior day for the Panthers, and Lyllie Menivar-Couch, Lauren Sanders and White were honored before the match.

White had a memorable senior day with seven goals, including one with eight minutes to play that cut N.C. Wesleyan’s lead to 14-12.

That’s the way it remained until the Bishops capped the scoring with less than three minutes remaining.

Sanders had two goals for the Panthers, and Sarah Gilbrook, Abby Hunt and Shepier had one goal apiece.

LaGrange College hosts USA South foe Piedmont on Wednesday before going back on the road to play Salem on Saturday and Pfeiffer on Sunday.
