The Callaway Cavaliers will be in bounce-back mode today.

After losing to Heard County 10-0 on Tuesday, Callaway will get another chance to beat its rival today. Callaway will complete its Region 5-AA schedule with a home doubleheader against Heard County, with the first game set to begin at 5 p.m.

The games were originally scheduled for Friday, but the coaches decided to move things up a day to avoid a possible rain storm.

Bremen is 12-1 in the region, and it will finish first.

Callaway (9-4), Lamar County (8-5) and Heard County (7-6) are fighting for position.

If Callaway wins one of the two games, it will finish second in Region 5-AA and will be at home for the opening round of the state playoffs.

If the Cavaliers lose both games today, they’ll finish third or fourth in the region, and they’ll have to go on the road for their state opener.
