Marie Anne Therese (Terri) Allain Kelly was born to Joseph Paul Allain and Marie Blanche Arsenault on January 4, 1929 in Springhill, Nova Scotia. She passed away on Sunday morning April 7, 2019 at home with many of her family by her side.

Terri is survived by her sister, Agnes Chapman of Moncton, New Brunswick; her husband, James P. Kelly; her 7 children and their spouses, Kevin and Debbie Kelly of Harrison, TN, Steve Kelly and Shannon Heath of Lafayette, LA, Paula Warner of LaGrange, GA, Jim and Christine Kelly of Naples, FL, Natalie Kelly and Marshall Ellis of Troutman, NC, Simone Kelly of Ooltewah, TN and Kathleen and Jerry Tucker of Honolulu, Hawaii; 18 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.  She is preceded in death by her brothers, Fidell, Bernie, Art, Freddie, Robert, Tony, John; and her sisters, Margaret and Kathleen.

Her mom died when she was only 5 and she spent several years in Catholic Boarding school which deepened her Catholic faith. She later chose to enter the convent and left prior to taking her final vows. She met the love of her life, married in May of 1956 and moved to the United States.

For the next 22 years she lived the nomadic life of military families attached to the Strategic Air Command in the US Air Force living in California, Oklahoma, Texas and finally settling in Georgia, which she called home for over 50 years. She held a special love for her home parish, St. Peter’s Catholic Church where she spent many years teaching the first holy communion classes for 2nd graders and volunteering in many capacities for St. Vincent de Paul and the Council of Catholic Women.

A graveside service was Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Chattanooga National Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be conducted at 2pm on Friday, April 26, 2019 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in LaGrange, GA with a Celebration of Life following the Mass in the parish hall.   Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to the Council of Catholic Women (CCW) at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 200 Lafayette Parkway, LaGrange, GA 30241.
