Four year old dies in possible drowning

A 4-year-old has died after being found in the bottom of a pool on Wednesday.

The Troup County Sheriff’s Office responded to 31 Willis Drive at 10:15 a.m. in response to a possible drowning. According to a press release from TCSO, the 911 caller found the child in the bottom of the pool, retrieved him and started CPR until fire personnel arrived on the scene and took over.  Despite life-saving efforts, the 4-year-old male child passed away.

The child has been identified as Isaac Ceja Perez, according to chief deputy coroner Erin Hackley.

“At this time, this incident appears to be a terrible tragedy,” said the press release from TCSO.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
