In the last three or four years, we have had a bump in animal abuse cases. Our local leaders and animal control officers have done a very good job of getting ahold of this problem by way of tougher laws and responding in a timely manner to an animal abuse issue.

Folks, it is important that we be good caretakers to our local animal population and not just to our own pets. Animals, just like us, need to be wanted, respected, loved and cared for. Children learn by example, so if they see us adults doing this on a regular basis they will pick up on it, and in turn not only be a caretaker themselves but better human beings overall.
