TCSS rearranges graduation seating to utilize Jumbotron

In May, when all three Troup County School System (TCSS) high school graduation ceremonies take place, the graduates will be facing the new Jumbotron so family and friends on both sides of Callaway Stadium can see their loved one walk across the stage and accept their diploma.

TCSS high school principals said this change is well-warranted as it gives all who attend an opportunity to readily enjoy the ceremony without an obstructed view of the ones they come to celebrate.

“Previously, our graduates were facing the home side of the field,” said Alton White, LaGrange High principal. “This only allowed the ones who sat on the visitor’s side to see their student walk across the stage.”

TCSS plans to make use of the new camera equipment supplied through the Jumbotron purchase by showing each graduate on the big screen as they accept their diploma.
