In a few months’ time, the LaGrange Daily News will come out with our second annual 20 Under 40 magazine special section. Our inaugural issue was released in the summer of 2018, which received a positive response from the community. Thus, we are bringing the edition back this year, but with a few new ideas and opportunities.

In the inaugural edition, the newspaper staff hand-picked the 20 original nominees. This year, we are asking the community for their input. We want to open the door for subscribers and community members alike to nominate their friends, neighbors, family and co-workers they believe to be deserving of recognition in this annual edition that has quickly become one of the more sought-after editions we produce on an annual basis.

We rarely run editorial content related to local stories running on the same day, but this does mark an exception. Alongside the information on the upcoming vote that can be found on Page 2 of this edition, we’re including some basic information here to help guide the process.

The voting sheet can be found in a link on our Facebook page, beginning today. Please follow the instructions attached to that sheet to ensure your nomination is counted. We will be accepting nominations through Friday, May 24, giving more than three weeks to nominate those you believe to be deserving for consideration in this section. To be considered for nomination, individuals must be under the age of 40 as of April 30, 2019.

We are looking for nominations from across Troup County of individuals involved in all facets of the community. Leaders who are striving to positively impact LaGrange and Troup County are the kind of people we are interested in.

The first 20 Under 40 edition that printed included a host of individuals making a difference and taking on leadership roles in every area of the county. We feel confident we could also pick another 20 who are doing the same thing this year. However, we want to continue to build community engagement, and this is an excellent way for you and your friends to join in on the fun and influence the final list.
