Dear Editor,

I, along with all the other coaches, and administration, would like to thank the City of LaGrange for the awesome job they did this past weekend with our Conference Festival. The U.S.A. South Conference, is by far, the best conference in the country. With golf, there were 9 teams competing and out of the 9 teams, there were 5 nationally-ranked teams in the top 22 in the country. You had LaGrange ranked #22, Greensboro #19, N.C. Wesleyan #16, Methodist #5, and Huntingdon #2. Greensboro has won two National Championships and so has Huntingdon. Methodist has won 13 National Championships. As you can see, you better show up with your “A” game against this kind of competition.

LaGrange, you went over and beyond the call of duty on this one and we appreciate all you did to make these teams feel welcome. I can’t tell you how many coaches and parents told me what a good job LaGrange did hosting the event. All of the fields, golf courses and tennis courts were beautiful and you could tell a lot of time was put in to getting them ready.

I would imagine the Conference would like to bring this back to LaGrange in the near future.

I just want to say to LaGrange, and all the people involved, thank you, and you make me proud that I’m a citizen of LaGrange.

By the way, I would personally like to congratulate David Kelton and our baseball team for winning the conference title for the third year in a row. Good luck down the road!
