Monday marked the beginning of a new chapter for Serendipity of LaGrange, as the store celebrated its grand opening and ribbon cutting under its new management.

The store sells purses, jewelry, clothing and gifts and offers monogramming on many items. Beyond the colorful displays, however, Serendipity’s owners say that the store is an answer to their prayers.

“We have always dreamed of having a business of our own and have prayed for a business of our own for years,” Co-Owner Sue Mallard said. “When God’s timing was right, He gave it to us.”

The owners also said that they are already enjoying working with the store’s regular customers.

“I love our regulars,” Co-Owner and Manager Katie LaCount said. “I love to get to know people and talk. It becomes a relationship, and it is great to get to know people.”

Pastor Mark Davenport prayed over the opening of Serendipity, and representatives from the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of commerce wished the owners luck, while recognizing the support the business already has.

“Not only is this a family business, but it is also a faith-based business,” LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce President Page Estes said. “We are so honored that some of your family and friends and your minister from City of Lights Church are here.”

Serendipity of LaGrange is located at 380 South Davis Road in LaGrange. The store is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. For more information, call (706)756-2700.
