ROSWELL – LaGrange’s season came to a close with a loss to Blessed Trinity in the second round of the Class AAAA state baseball playoffs.

After getting no-hit in a 4-0 loss in game one, LaGrange lost the second game 9-3.

In the first game, LaGrange had no answer for Blessed Trinity pitcher Eric Moore, who struck out seven and walked one while throwing a no-hitter.

Matthew Morgan pitched well for LaGrange.

Blessed Trinity scored four runs in the fourth inning, but it was held scoreless in every other inning.

Morgan held Blessed Trinity to four hits and he didn’t walk anyone.

Will Alford reached on a walk and was LaGrange’s only base runner.

In the second game, LaGrange scored single runs in the second, sixth and seventh innings and got a home run from Charles Crawford, but it was Blessed Trinity securing the win.

The Grangers were trailing 2-0 when Crawford drove the ball over the outfield fence for a solo home run in the bottom of the second inning.

In the sixth inning, Mason Green’s RBI single scored Cole Sanders, who reached on a leadoff walk.

LaGrange added another run in the seventh, with Crawford getting hit by a pitch leading off before scoring on a Sanders base hit.

Jake Cardwell was LaGrange’s starting pitcher, and he threw the first six innings.

Landon Tucker pitched the seventh inning for LaGrange.

Blessed Trinity’s DJ Radtke pitched six innings to get the win.

LaGrange finished third in Region 5-AAAA to earn a spot in the state playoffs.

In a first-round series that went the full three games, LaGrange beat Stephens County to reach the second round.
