The state sectional track-and-field meets will be held today at locations across Georgia, and dozens of boys and girls from Callaway, LaGrange and Troup will be participating.

Callaway’s athletes will be in Bremen for the Class AA sectional, and LaGrange and Troup will be at Kinnett Stadium in Columbus for the Class AAAA sectional.

The top finishers from the state sectionals advance to the state finals next week.

The Class AA state finals will be held in Rome, and the Class AAA state finals will be in Albany.

To qualify for the state sectional, an athlete had to finish fourth or higher in the region meet.

Here are the LaGrange, Troup and Callaway state-sectional qualifiers, along with their finishes in their respective region meets.

LaGrange and Troup participate in the Region 5-AAAA meet at Sandy Creek, and Callaway was at Heard County for the Region 5-AA meet.
