A festive evening is being planned for LaGrange’s annual Spring Sip & Shop event.

Shop keepers will extend their hours until 9 p.m. on Friday, May 17. Participating businesses are Ye Old Red Door Antiques, Fountain Gifts, Cochran Gallery, Royal Dancewear, Boardwalk Limited, Plum Southern, The Legacy Museum, Stephen’s Exclusives, Marketplace at LaFayette Square, R&B Consignment, Blue Threads, Merle Norman Studio & Sugars Boutique, and Elliebelle’s Boutique. Most shops will have special sales and drawings during the evening.

LaGrange Symphony Orchestra members will serve as “sidewalk musicians” for the evening, filling the night air with music.

Additionally, an artist’s market will pop up in downtown’s Flag Pole Park, featuring the works of local artist members of  Visual Artist Alliance of LaGrange — Jennifer Emery, Maryse Prescott-Valliencourt, Victoria Slagle, Leah Watts and Chris Mitchell.

For a $25 donation , those interested in enjoying a wine tasting as they shop, may register to do so at Ye Olde Red Door Antiques, Plum Southern, Stephen’s Exclusives, Marketplace at LaFayette Square, Elliebelle’s Boutique and Boardwalk Limited in advance or on May 17 at the Sip & Shop registration table at Chamber of Commerce Plaza beginning at 5 p.m.

Downtown merchants selected LaGrange Symphony Orchestra’s youth strings program to receive a portion of the Sip & Shop donations for youth scholarships for LSO’s Strings Attached program.

A commemorative stemless wine glass and wrist band will be given for each donation.
