On Tuesday around 6:26 p.m., LaGrange Police Department officers responded to reports of a man who had been shot at the Oak Grove Apartments at 115 Mitchell Avenue.

According to an LPD press release, upon arrival, LPD officers made contact with the victim who was suffering from a single gunshot wound to the right arm. The victim reportedly said that he was sitting outside in front of the apartment when he heard a gunshot in the area. A few moments later, the victim realized that he had been struck, but he did not provide any other information useful to the investigation.

Sgt. William Nelson said evidence indicates that the shooter was very close to the victim when he was shot.

The victim was reportedly transported to Columbus Medical for treatment. The incident is under investigation by the LPD criminal investigation section.
