Mrs. Gwendola (Gwen) Shortte, 88, of 3457 Roanoke Road passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at her home. Mrs. Shortte was born December 24, 1930 in LaGrange. She and her late husband Willard Harmon Shortte, Jr was business entrepreneurs’ and were owner and operators of the 5 & 10cent store on Bull street and a laundry mat on Greenville Street. Survivors include, her daughter, Sylvia Johnson; her granddaughter and her husband, Ashley and Gene Adams; grandson and his wife, Jay R. and Wendy Johnson; 5 great-grandchildren, Gavin Adams, Evan Adams, Jonathan Pierson, Weston Adams, and Josephine Adams.

Family graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday from the Shortte Family Lot in Shadowlawn with family members presiding. Interment was there in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
