Jenna Oden, 22, has joined The LaGrange Daily News as a general assignment reporter.

Oden, a Fairhope, Alabama native, graduated from Troy University in May with a bachelor of science degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in communications.

 “I could not be more joyous to start my career, finally, full-time, in LaGrange. Now that I’m out of school, I’m able to fully focus on my job, and I’m excited to get started,” Oden said. “The LDN and LaGrange community have been nothing but accepting, which is nice because I am a complete goofball. I cannot wait to see where this journey takes me in life.”

During her time in college, she worked for The Troy Messenger, another Boone newspaper. She was also a Division I athlete at Troy, running cross country and track. 

“We are excited that Jenna has joined our staff in LaGrange,” said Daily News Managing Editor Daniel Evans. 

“Her photography and writing skills will elevate our staff, and I think the community will enjoy getting to work with her.”

Oden will cover news for the Daily News and will also contribute to special sections such as LaGrange Living.
