LHS, Troup compete at state

LaGrange High’s Sydney Ormsby surged to a 13th-place finish in the Class AAAA state golf that was held at Maple Ridge Golf Club in Columbus.

Ormsby shot a 77 in the opening round on Monday, and she closed with a 79 on Tuesday to finish tied for 13th with two other players.

Ormsby helped LaGrange finished 13th in the state.

Ally Arp posted scores of 106 and 113, while Macee Stone had an opening-round 131 before finishing with a 139.

Eileen Hwang had a first-round 146, and she improved by 25 strokes in the second round with a 121.

The top three scores each day counted toward the team total.

Troup finished 15th in the state, with Kyla Bedingfield leading the way with scores of 110 and 106.

Sydney Lindsey was next for Troup with scores of 108 and 112, and

Taylor Kennedy had rounds of 115 and 109.

Also for Troup, Sarah Blanks carded scores of 112 and 116.

Woodward Academy won the team title by four strokes over Columbus, and Madeleine Krueger of Columbus captured the individual championship with scores of 74 and 73.
