Troup County will be hosting a dedication ceremony for the new and improved C. Leon Pitts Tennis Center at the Doc and Ann McCluskey Tennis Complex.

The ceremony will take place on at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday at the tennis complex, located at 100 Hunnicut Place, LaGrange.

The dedication will serve as a grand opening celebration for the renovated tennis center and will celebrate the success and growth of the facility. Troup County, in coordination with local organizations and stakeholders, invite the public to attend the dedication to commemorate the grand opening of the new-and-improved tennis center.

The facility has received extensive interior and exterior upgrades, such as a full remodel of the pro shop building, asphalt court renovations and lighting upgrades. The project was funded with a joint effort from SPLOST funds, a renovation grant donated by the Callaway Foundation, and commendable fundraising efforts from the Chattahoochee Valley Tennis Association. The Troup County Board of Commissioners collaborated with Principle-Williams Construction of LaGrange and Smith Design Group to complete the renovations that began in November 2018.

The tennis center is a widely-utilized facility for the citizens of Troup County, as well as many athletes from around the state. It is used by LaGrange High School, Troup High School and is also a host site for the USA South Athletic Conference, which just took place last month.

“We’re thrilled about the completion of this project and the opportunity to provide better-quality amenities to our evolving tennis community here in Troup County,” said County Manager Eric Mosley.
