For years, Drianna Dominick’s favorite hobby has been crafting, but she kept having to leave town to find vinyl and other supplies.

Dominick decided to take matters into her own hands and opened LaGrange Vinyl and Craft Supply in Bull Street on May 15.

“I wanted somewhere that I could make my place but wanted to offer something that was also reliable and convenient,” Dominick said. “My biggest goal is to serve other crafters and their needs.”

Dominick said she was having to travel distances or search the web for hours to try and find specific supplies that fit all her crafting needs.

“The constant travel to find good supplies was too much,” Dominick said. “I wanted to be a one-stop-shop and saw that LaGrange was in need of one too. I hear a lot that I am needed and am so happy to able to be that for this area.”

A few years ago, Dominick was gifted her first Silhouette machine, and from that moment on, she said she was behind the machine every day.  With the growing use of Cricut and Silhouette machines to create vinyl to put on t-shirts, bags, cars and more, the need for supplies is growing alongside with it.

“Everybody monograms and everybody puts it on everything,” Dominick said. “Because of it all getting so popular, everyone is needing this. Business has been really good, and there have been great turn outs.”

Dominick said her favorite part of the new business is all the people she gets to meet.

“All the new faces are so exciting, but it is even more exciting to see the same faces because you know people are happy,” Dominick said. “We are starting small but eventually will get a lot more in. We want to have everything. I want to be that go-to place for everyone, and the hope is to expand and get bigger. Every time someone comes in, I jot down a note for what people are looking for.”

In addition to supplies for vinyl crafters, Dominick’s store also offers classes.

“Twice a month, we will put together a Saturday morning class at 9 a.m. to teach people how to use Silhouette and Cricut machines,” Dominick said. “There are only eight people in the class. We have all the supplies and machines available, and you get to make one thing to take home. Just show up, have some breakfast and have fun while learning.”

LaGrange Vinyl and Craft Supply is located at 130 C Bull Street and is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
