On Wednesday, Daniel Realty and Insurance Agency announced on Facebook that a Kentucky Fried Chicken franchisee had purchased property at 305 New Franklin Road.

According to the post, construction is expected to start in late June or early July, and the current tenant, Georgia Auto Pawn, will relocate.

“I’m just really, really looking forward to them coming, and that is one reason why we decided to sell it,” said Jim Daniel, the owner of Daniel Realty & Insurance Agency. “That is where they wanted to go, and we wanted to bring them back here.”

Daniel and John McDonald were the owners, according to Daniel.

Troup County property records confirm that the property was sold to David Barr and William Byrd in care of PMTD Restaurants LLC on May 8. According to the International Franchise Association, Barr is the chairman of PMTD Restaurants and its affiliates, a multi-unit franchise business operating 23 KFC and Taco Bell restaurants. Barr is also the chair of IFA.

There was previously a KFC located at 217 New Franklin Road, which operated by a different franchisee.
