Market on Main, LaGrange’s longest running local grower’s market, is preparing for opening day on June 1.

At this outdoor curb market, local farmers sell their vegetables, fruits, jams, jellies, fresh fried pork skins, beignets, biscuits, fried pies and fresh eggs to a loyal following of customers along Main Street.

The market pops up each Saturday morning around Downtown LaGrange’s Flag Pole park at the corner of Main Street and LaFayette Parkway across from LaFayette Square.

“We are so excited to return to the Flag Pole park again this year,” said Barbie Watts, director of promotions and marketing for the Downtown LaGrange Development Authority. “Being located next to LaFayette Square has increased the visibility of Market on Main and translates to an increase in new customers. We are also excited to announce that the market will stay open until 11 a.m. each Saturday during this summer.”

The market will have new hours starting this season — staying open from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Umbrella tables and chairs along with corn hole games, have been added to Flag Pole park for market shoppers to enjoy. The market operates rain or shine throughout the summer, except during lightning storms.

The last day of market will be Aug. 31. Anyone interested in becoming a vendor for the 2019 season can download a vendor application at Marketonmainlagrange.com. Anyone interested in the market can also contact Watts at (706) 298-4534 or barbiew@downtownlagrange.com for more information.
