Momma Goldberg’s in West Point closes

It appears Momma Goldberg’s in West Point has closed for good.

A sign on the restaurant’s location Monday broke the news to customers.

“To all of our wonderful customers, we regret to inform you that we will no longer continue serving you at this location,” the sign read. “We thank you for all of your business and support. Be sure to visit another one of our many locations!”

The business opened on June 9, 2018, thus its closure marks nearly a year to the day its opening. The West Point location is no longer listed on the Momma Goldberg’s website, which lists locations in Auburn, LaGrange and Columbus.

The owner of the restaurant was Matt Livingston, who also owns American Smokehouse, Coach’s Bar and Grill and Railroads in West Point.

“I appreciate each and every customer that comes to Downtown West Point to support the community, all the local businesses, and all the restaurants, and a special thank you to the ones that support all of mine,” Livingston said. “Momma Goldberg’s is an outstanding franchise, and they have an amazing reputation with quality leadership. Sometimes things are just not a fit in a certain area, and I believe this was the situation here.”
