On Thursday, financial agency Stifel Nicolaus & Co. joined with the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the business’ new location at 202 North Lewis Street.

Stifel has had a LaGrange location since 2006, but the business recently found itself in need of a larger office space in order to accommodate its growth.

“We were in the old Coke building, and we were there for 12 years,” Vice President of Investments Dill Williams said. “It was a great space for us, very visible, but this building became available, and we needed more room. The timing was perfect.”

The new location is just a few blocks over from their previous location, but with more office space, its own parking lot and a space with a history of success, Stifel’s LaGrange team feels it is poised for a bright future.

“We are excited to be here,” Vice President Robert Doerr said.

“We love the fact that we could remodel a building that had a long history of people before us in here — successful businesses.”

Williams and Doerr have been working together in the financial sector since 2000, and they were glad to see the expansion in both their space and their team.

“This building provides for this growth for us to be larger and have more offices,” Registered Investment Associate Josh Williams said.

Doerr said that he hopes Stifel will continue to grow and take care of its clients in the future, as it continues to be the same dependable institution that it has in the past.

“It is always exciting when we see our businesses expanding and taking on new locations, especially reinvesting in the community — in light of what their business actually is — to choose a downtown location that is so convenient for people to be able to access it,” said LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce President Page Estes. “It is just so exciting to see them continue to grow, to be successful and to give back to the community by making this significant investment. It is transforming this block of North Lewis Street, and we can’t wait to see what is next.”
