Tis the season to go camping.

With summer in full swing, there are no shortage of youth camps in the community.

Camps for softball, basketball volleyball, and every sport in between will be held between now and the start of school in August.

SOFTBALL: The LaGrange High School Youth Softball Camp will be held June 10 through June 13 at the school’s softball complex.

The camp is open to girls ages 6 to 12, and players of all skill levels are invited to attend.

The cost is $100 for the week, or $30 per day, and a T-shirt is included in the price.

All of the funds raised from the camp will go to help the LaGrange softball team attend a team camp this summer.

VOLLEYBALL: The Callaway High Volleyball Camp will be held June 10 through June 13 in the Callaway gym.

The hours will be from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. each day.

The cost is $80.

BASEBALL: The second and final session of the David Kelton youth summer camp will be June 10 through June 14.

The hours will be from 9 a.m. until noon each day, and the cost is $150.

The lead camp instructor is David Kelton, LaGrange College’s head coach.

VOLLEYBALL: LaGrange College volleyball coach Madison Machurek is offering a pair of camps this summer.

From June 12 to June 14, there will be camps for setters and attackers, as well as a camp for defense

and passing.

On July 26 and July 27, Machurek will offer an advanced high-school camp.

SOCCER: The Jeff Geeter soccer camp will be held June 17 through June 21.

The camp will be held at the LaGrange College soccer complex.

For boys and girls ages 5 to 8, the hours will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Geeter, the long-time soccer coach at LaGrange College, will lead the camp, and he’ll be helped out by other coaches at the school, as well as members of the men’s and women’s soccer teams.

BASKETBALL: The LaGrange College youth basketball individual camp will be held June 19-20. The camp is for boys and girls ages 7 to 14, and it will be held in Mariotti Gym on the LaGrange College campus.

For boys and girls ages 5 to 8, the hours will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

For boys and girls ages 9 to 14, the hours will be from 9 a.m. until noon and the cost is $75.

SOCCER: The Callaway High Soccer Cavalier Kids Soccer Camp will be held June 24-27.

The hours for boys and girls ages 11 to 14 will be from 9 a.m. until noon, and the hours for campers ages 5 to 10 will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

The cost is $50 per player.

Instructors will include Callaway coaches and players.

SOCCER: The LaGrange Girls Soccer Camp will be held from July 15-19 at the Troup County Soccer Complex.

The hours will be from 9 a.m. until noon each day, and the cost is $80.

The camp is open to girls ages 4 to 14, and players of all skill levels are welcome. No previous soccer experience is required.

SOFTBALL: The Jennifer Claybrook youth softball camp will be held on June 26 at French Hammond Field in Wedowee, Ala.

The camp is for girls from the sixth grade to the ninth grade, and the cost is $35.

Jennifer Claybrook is the head softball coach at LaGrange College.

BASKETBALL: The Blue Star Summer Basketball Camp hosted by LaGrange High will be held from July 15 to July 17 in the Mike Daniel Recreation Center.

The hours will be from 9 a.m. until noon each day, and the camp is open to boys and girls ages 5 to 13.
